On Feb. 22, Wuhan resident Xu Zihua took
photos of a copper manhole cover on Linjiang
Avenue. On the manhole cover were carved
images of the Yellow Crane Tower and the
Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge.

The image on this novel manhole cover is one of a series co-designed by the Wuhan Water Group and Wuhan University students and faculty, and produced by Hanshui Technology. More than 20 manhole covers decorated with copper or colorful images of landmarks such as the Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge, Yellow Crane Tower, and Hankou Water Tower are to be found on Pengliuyang Road, Linjiang Avenue, and Tanhualin in Wuchang, as well as Zhongshan Avenue and Yanjiang Avenue in Hankou. The covers are decorated with images of landmarks to be found in the local vicinity.
原来，这批“新奇”的井盖是由武汉市水务集团与武汉大学师生共同设计，汉水科技公司铸造出品的系列井盖。目前已在武昌彭刘杨路、临江大道、昙华林，汉口中山大道、沿江大道等路段铺设了20多块，图案分别为武汉长江大桥与黄鹤楼、汉口水塔，井盖表面分为彩色版、铜质版，根据图案中的地标建筑，配套安装在对应的地标建筑所在区域。
