February 14 marked the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic ties between China and Mexico. A light show was rolled out on the same day to show their deep relationship. The show displayed slogans such as "Congratulations on 50th Anniversary of China-Mexico Diplomatic Ties" in colors deriving from the national flags of the two countries, which lit up landmark buildings along the Yangtze and Han rivers, attracting many people to take photos.
2月14日是中国与墨西哥建交50周年纪念日,为体现中墨深厚情谊,长江灯光秀中,“庆祝中国墨西哥建交50周年”等标语及表现中国与墨西哥国旗主色调的光影闪耀于两江四岸的地标建筑上,不少市民游客在江滩边拍照留念。

Mexico firmly supported the restoration of China's lawful seat at the United Nations in October 1971. Their diplomatic relations were then established on Feb. 14, 1972. Wuhan and Tijuana, Mexico have established a sister-city relationship since July 2013.
据悉,1971年10月,墨西哥坚定支持中华人民共和国恢复在联合国的合法席位,1972年2月14日,中国与墨西哥正式建立外交关系。2013年7月,武汉市与墨西哥蒂华纳市建立友好城市关系。
