The 15th Shanhua Award of Chinese Folk Literature and Art was announced recently. The bamboo carving work by Xu Haiqing, a local inheritor of intangible cultural heritage, was shortlisted for the final evaluation.
近日,第十五届中国民间文艺山花奖揭晓,武汉非遗竹雕传人徐海清创作的竹根雕作品入围终评作品名单。

The award is a national folk art award approved by the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China and jointly awarded by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the Chinese Folk Literature and Art Association.
中国民间文艺山花奖是经中宣部批准,由中国文学艺术界联合会、中国民间文艺家协会共同颁发的国家级民间文艺大奖。

Xu, 53, is a provincial-level inheritor of the "bamboo carving (Xinzhou bamboo carving)." He has inherited his grandfather's wood carving skills and has been engaged in bamboo carving research and creation for decades. The work he created for the award is six meters long in total and has 68 figures and objects of various sizes. "This set of creation took three years and six months from conception and design to completion," Xu said.
53岁的徐海清是非遗项目“竹雕(新洲竹雕)”省级传承人,承继其祖父木雕技艺,从事竹雕研究、创作几十年。该竹根雕作品总长6米,共68个大小人物及器物。“这套作品从构思、设计到制作完成,花了三年又六个月的时间。”徐海清介绍。
