Recently, more than 100 international students from Hubei University gathered online to sing the popular folk song "Hanyangmen Garden" and recorded a music video to welcome the new semester and the arrival of spring.
近日,湖北大学100余名国际学生线上连线,演唱武汉民谣《汉阳门花园》,并录制歌曲MV,迎接新学期和春天的到来。
The students came from both Hubei University and its overseas Confucius Institutes. They sang the local ballad together via a video link while walking around the campus and the streets of Wuhan or in other parts of the world.
留学生来自湖北大学及湖大在海外孔子学院。身在中国的留学生们走在湖大校园和武汉街头,海外的学生们通过视频连线,在世界各地唱响这首武汉民谣。

The video presented well-known scenic spots in Wuhan such as the Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge, the Yellow Crane Tower, and the Zhiyin Cruise. It also highlighted images of calligraphy, dragon and lion dancing, and pottery art that are included in the university's international educational programs.
视频里还展示出长江大桥、黄鹤楼、知音号等武汉市著名景点,也介绍了书法、舞龙舞狮、陶艺等湖大国际教育的诸多内容。
"We hope to convey our message of 'We are expecting you in Wuhan' through this unique local song," said Dan Ye, a teacher from the university’s international office. Ye added that every year the university would organize international students to record videos and songs to express their wishes for a better new year.
“我们希望用这首极具武汉特色的歌曲来表达‘我们在武汉等你’的期盼。”湖大国际交流与合作处教师叶丹介绍,学校每年都会组织国际学生录制新春祝福视频和歌曲。
