On Jan. 6, three expats from
Japan, Canada and Ethiopia got the
first batch of visas issued at the
Optics Valley Administrative Service
Center. Foreign residents in Optics
Valley can now get a visa in only five
working days; the procedure used to
take seven.
1月6日，来自日本、加拿大、埃塞俄比亚的三名外籍人员在光谷政务服务中心拿到了在光谷制作的首批签证。外国人不用出光谷，最快5个工作日，就可拿到签证。

Optics Valley is one of the most
sought-after areas for foreigners in
Hubei. There are now nearly 2,000
expats working or living there.
光谷是湖北省内最受外国友人喜爱的地区之一，目前有约2000名外籍人士在光谷工作生活。
"It was a pleasant experience to
get my visa today, and the whole
process is fairly efficient," said
Thalheimer Patrick Charles, the
foreign curriculum director of the
Maple Leaf International School.
“今天来办签证的体验很愉悦，整个过程效率很高。”枫叶国际学校外方课程校长帕特里克·塔尔海默说。
